Chestnut Honey is a fine and distinctive honey , known for its dark color with red/greenish tones and its strong, aromatic and pungent aroma, reminiscent of dry wood. This honey is a unique experience for the palate, thanks to its strong and penetrating taste, with a bitter aftertaste that makes it unmistakable.

Chestnut honey is known for its difficult crystallization. However, if it contains small percentages of lime due to flowering at the same time, coarse crystals may form.

The chestnut honey harvest period is from June to July, when bees collect nectar from chestnut flowers to produce this extraordinary honey.

Chestnut honey pairs perfectly with mature cheeses such as pecorino and parmesan, grilled meats, bitter vegetables such as radicchio and chicory, and toasted wholemeal bread. It is also ideal for sweetening herbal teas and strong teas.
