Montasio DOP Stravecchio , produced by Latteria di Ovaro , is a cheese that is a symbol of Friuli Venezia Giulia . This DOP cheese is made using only cow's milk from the production area, keeping alive a centuries-old cheesemaking tradition. Latteria di Ovaro, located in an enchanting mountain area, meticulously follows artisanal techniques to offer a superior quality product.

Montasio Stravecchio is characterized by a long maturation that gives it a strong and aromatic flavor. Its paste, initially white and compact, becomes grainy and crumbly with a dry and hard crust over time.
