Chardonnay - Vendrame Vignis del Doge

Chardonnay Vendrame Vignis del Doge is a dry white wine from Friuli Venezia Giulia, characterized by a bouquet of green apples and notes of bitter almonds. This artisanal Chardonnay offers a refreshing acidity, ideal for accompanying fish and seafood dishes.

Chardonnay was imported from France and initially used to be blended with Verduzzo. Vendrame Vignis del Doge planted its first Chardonnay vines in 2010, with the idea of creating an oak-fermented Chardonnay, perfect to enjoy as a winter white wine with traditional Venetian fried fish.

The grapes, selected and harvested by hand during the last week of August and the first of September, grow on clay and gravelly soils with a density of 4,000 vines per hectare. Ideal to pair with grilled sea bass, calamari, stuffed fish ravioli and pasta with prawns, Chardonnay Vendrame Vignis del Doge best expresses its character if served at a temperature of 6-8 °C.
