Curiosity: Sea wormwood , known scientifically as Artemisia coerulescens, is an aromatic perennial plant that typically grows in the Grado lagoon , in Friuli Venezia Giulia. This plant, locally called Santonego, is characterized by silvery green leaves and flowers between August and September. It is appreciated not only for its distinctive aroma, but also for its bitter-tonic properties.

Santonego is deeply rooted in the local tradition of Grado. It has been used historically to create a digestive due to its ability to stimulate the appetite and facilitate digestion. This traditional use has been maintained and enhanced by local producers who have combined sea wormwood with high quality grappa to create a unique elixir.

Produced and bottled for Lagunando by II Opificium in Spilimbergo, Santonego® represents the tradition and passion of Friuli Venezia Giulia, maintaining a strong bond with the territory.
