THE SPECIALTIES
The Friulian dairy heritage
The region is renowned for its diversity of cheeses, the fruit of a dairy heritage that has its roots in an agricultural past deeply linked to its diverse geographical zones, from the Alpine mountains to coastal pastures.
Among the most emblematic cheeses we find Montasio DOP , a cheese that varies in consistency and flavor depending on the maturation; the Formadi Frant , a unique cheese obtained by mixing different broken or leftover cheeses, the Latteria , which stands out for its pure milk taste and soft texture.
No less important are the mountain cheeses , produced only in the summer months when the cows graze in the rich mountain pastures, giving the milk, and consequently the cheese, a particularly rich and aromatic flavour.
